Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Supply Chain Clerk , as well as a Despatch Clerk, that has arisen in the Logistics Department at BBF Safety Group. The Supply Chain Clerk and respective Despatch Clerkwill report to the Warehouse Manager and will have, amongst others, the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Capture and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and timeously.
- Follow up on supplier deliveries and communicate delays to relevant stakeholders.
- Receive and verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement and inventory transactions.
- Assist with the receipt, storage, and issuing of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
- Ensure stock transactions are accurately captured on the ERP system.
- Support cycle counts, stock takes, and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess stock.
- Assist with supplier performance monitoring and reporting.
- Maintain filing systems for procurement, inventory, and logistics documentation.
- Coordinate transport bookings and logistics documentation where required.
- Liaise with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Finance departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, audit requirements, and SHEQ standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain department.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12/ Matric
- Computer Literacy in Microsoft and ERP Systems
- Tertiary qualification - Advantageous
- 1-2 Years’ experience in production, Manufacturing or similar environment.
Skills & Competencies
- 1 – 2 years clerical/ administrative experience
- Previous receiving experience advantageous
