Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Quality Officer that has arisen in the Production Department at BBF Safety Group. The Quality Officer will report to the Group Quality Manager and will have, amongst others, the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain Compliance of ISO certificates (9001:2015 and SANS/ISO 20345)
- Conduct Internal Audits at Planned Intervals ( generate an audit program indicating intervals)
- Participate in 3rd party audits (SABS, SAI Global, NRCS)
- Oversee and implement root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action on audit findings
- Maintain set quality objectives to support operations
- Monitor, measure, and analyse reject rates and defectives and report to the Group Quality Manager
- Compile weekly & monthly Quality report for the Group Quality Manager and report on Quality status on the daily production meeting with the departmental head
- Review, revise, update, and amend all controlled documents required by QMS
- Assess and submit return requests for customer returns to the Group Quality Manager
- Facilitate and maintain raw material & finished goods inspections
- Initiate and manage concessions and approvals of changes on products and processes
- Strategic problem-solving skills on both Quality and Production problems.
- Conduct weekly Quality meeting with the factory QC examiners to discuss and implement actions on trending issues
- Support and monitor all quality personnel and communicate information relating to the product conformity and requirements (conduct quality awareness on on relavant changes and standards)
- Populate Pareto charts analysis for quality performance in production departments
- Continuous improvements on all QMS procedures and processes
- Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
- Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors.
- Participate in internal assessments and audits as required.
- Perform validations or transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable
- policies or guidelines.
- Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved.
- Prepare or review the required method transfer documentation, including technical transfer protocols or reports.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma / Bcom Degree in Operations (advantageous)
- ISO 9001 Implementation
- ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditing
