Introduction
Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited for the position of Inventory Controller. The successful candidate will report to the Warehouse Manager and will have amongst others, the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances and discrepancies.
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately captured on the ERP/system.
- Coordinate receipt, storage, transfer, and issuing of stock.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage practices are followed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Liaise with Procurement, Production, Finance, and Warehouse departments regarding stock requirements and shortages.
- Monitor obsolete, damaged, and slow-moving stock and report findings.
- Ensure inventory processes comply with company policies and audit requirements.
- Assist with internal and external stock audits.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within stores and inventory processes.
- Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained within inventory and storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reorder requirements proactively.
- Support SHEQ initiatives and objectives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma or Certificate in Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant inventory or stores experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous
- Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, and inventory systems/ERP systems
- Forklift licence advantageous
