ROLE SUMMARY:
- To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them.
- To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and present interesting and exciting lessons.
- Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to design engaging lessons and contribute to cross-curricular initiatives.
- Model professionalism, dedication, and a growth mindset within the school community.
- Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and students’ homework.
- Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
- Offer academic support on two afternoons per week and assist with two afternoons of extracurricular activities.
- Produce resources of a high standard for students.
- Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
- Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
- Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
- Write comments on student reports.
- The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determines.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Skills and Previous Experience:
- Confidence with the use of IT in teaching
- Proven track record of teaching Social Sciences in Grade 5-7
Qualifications and Accreditations:
- University qualification
- Certified Teaching Status
- SACE registration
