Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all receiving operations to ensure stock is received accurately and efficiently.
- Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Inspect stock for damages, shortages, and quality issues, and report discrepancies.
- Ensure all received stock is accurately captured on the system.
- Organise and oversee the safe storage of stock in the receiving area.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support regular stock takes.
- Lead, supervise, and train the receiving team to achieve operational targets.
- Ensure company receiving procedures and stock control policies are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe receiving area in line with health and safety standards.
- Liaise with suppliers, warehouse staff, and store management to resolve receiving issues.
- Monitor stock movement and ensure timely replenishment of the sales floor.
- Investigate and report stock variances, damages, and losses.
- Ensure all documentation related to stock receipts is completed accurately and filed correctly.
- Monitor team performance and promote productivity and accountability.
- Perform any other reasonable duties required to support store operations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a Receiving Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar stock control role within a retail environment.
- Proven experience in inventory management, stock control, and receiving procedures.
- Previous experience supervising and leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of receiving documentation, stock reconciliation, and inventory systems.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a warehouse/receiving environment.
- Grade 12 (Matric) required.
