ROLE SUMMARY:
- To adopt a leadership role within the College ensuring a holistic view to students and staff. Promoting the general progress and well-being of all students and teachers specifically focusing on guaranteeing a high level of pastoral support in the College. Create a positive learning environment and motivate teachers and students to ensure an education at the highest level. Carry out duties of a subject teacher. Part of the campus management team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote and oversee initiatives that support student mental health and well-being.
- Implement policies and strategies for maintaining a high standard of conduct.
- Collaborate with counsellors, teachers and parents to provide the students with the appropriate support.
- Provide training and ongoing support to staff on pastoral care approaches and behavior management techniques.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a pastoral curriculum that includes life skills and personal development.
- Work closely with the head teacher in establishing and promoting the school's pastoral vision and values.
- Monitor and analyse data on student behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
- Manage and respond to critical incidents that affect the school community, including safeguarding concerns.
- Collaborate closely with the Deputy Head of Academics to ensure holistic academic success and personal development for every student.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Management Duties, Skills and Previous Experience:
- A minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in a management role will be advantageous.
- Be involved in the interview process, interviewing prospective new staff members with senior management.
- Take responsibility and assist with the mentorship of all new staff members.
- Be approachable and caring to students, parents and colleagues
- Work on being an individual with high EQ
- Professionally address conflict ensuring that all school policies and procedures are always upheld in the process.
- Be proactive, honour commitments and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Communicate accurately to relevant stakeholders
Qualifications and Accreditations:
- University qualification
- Certified Teaching Status
- SACE accredited
