POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a high-calibre AI Engineer (Forward-Deployed AI) to help transform how our business operates by embedding AI directly into core workflows, teams, and decision-making processes.
This is not a traditional engineering role. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, operations, and enablement, working closely with business teams to identify high-impact opportunities and then rapidly design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools, agents, and automations that fundamentally change how work gets done.
You will act as both a builder and an accelerator: someone who can go from understanding a messy real-world workflow to shipping a working AI solution to enabling others to adopt and extend it independently.
Success in this role is measured not by prototypes shipped, but by workflows transformed, time saved, and teams who permanently adopt AI-first ways of working.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Embed with business teams and identify high-impact opportunities
Work directly with business stakeholders across functions (e.g. tax, operations, client services, finance, etc.)
Map existing workflows end-to-end to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities
Translate ambiguous business problems into structured AI opportunities
Prioritise use cases based on leverage, feasibility, and business impact
Build and deploy AI systems that transform workflows
Design and build AI-powered tools, agents, and automations using modern LLM and AI frameworks
Integrate AI solutions into existing systems, data sources, and day-to-day tools
Move quickly from prototype to production, with a strong bias toward usable, embedded solutions
Ensure solutions are robust, secure, and maintainable in real operational environments
Drive AI adoption and behavioural change
Coach and support non-technical users in adopting AI tools in their daily work
Help teams move from experimentation → consistent AI usage → full workflow transformation
Create simple, reusable playbooks and templates to scale successful patterns across teams
Reduce reliance on you over time by enabling teams to build and iterate independently
Build reusable systems and scale impact
Identify patterns across workflows and design reusable AI components and frameworks
Standardise solutions where possible to avoid one-off builds
Contribute to an internal library of tools, prompts, agents, and automation workflows
Continuously improve existing systems based on user feedback and performance
Operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and change management
Collaborate with engineering and business leadership to align AI initiatives with strategic priorities
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Document workflows, solutions, and impact in a way that enables scaling across the organisation
Act as a bridge between "what AI can do" and "what the business actually needs"
WHAT YOU BRING
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology related fields with a strong academic background.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience/interest in working AI tools like Claude and other LLMs.
Experience working with machine learning advantageous.
COMPETENCIES:
Strong competency in code development languages like Python and Java.
Familiarity with modern cloud technology, SaaS products, and low code platforms advantageous e.g. AWS, Azure
