ROLE SUMMARY:
To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them.
To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and present interesting and exciting lessons.
Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to design engaging lessons and contribute to cross-curricular initiatives.
Model professionalism, dedication, and a growth mindset within the school community.
Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and students' homework.
Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
Offer academic support on two afternoons per week and assist with two afternoons of extracurricular activities.
Produce resources of a high standard for students.
Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
Write comments on student reports.
The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determines.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Skills and Previous Experience:
Confidence with the use of IT in teaching
Proven track record of teaching Social Sciences in Grade 5-7
Qualifications and Accreditations:
University qualification
Certified Teaching Status
SACE registration
