- Shape and drive the business strategy and delivery of payment solutions within the organisation’s payments capability, ensuring strong business value, compliance, and customer outcomes.
- This role defines the payments capability roadmap, builds business cases, and coordinates end-to-end delivery across technology, operations, risk, and compliance.
- The Solution Strategist acts as the primary business owner for payments solutions, translating market needs, regulatory change, and strategic priorities into actionable, value-adding capabilities.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
- Payments Strategy & Roadmap: Drive the strategic roadmap for the payments capability, aligning it to business strategy, market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and regulatory drivers.
- End-to-End Solution Delivery Oversight: Coordinate the end-to-end implementation of approved payment initiatives, ensuring cross-functional delivery, business readiness, effective change management, and successful outcomes.
- Payments Domain Leadership & Best Practices: Serve as a payments subject matter expert, embedding industry standards and regulatory requirements into solution design and promoting best practice across the enterprise.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance: Build strong stakeholder relationships, lead governance and communication for the payments portfolio, and align stakeholders around successful business outcomes.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- Proven Payments Experience: 5–8 years in payments or financial services solution roles, with a strong record of delivering large-scale payment solutions from concept to launch and adoption.
- Deep Payments Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of end-to-end payment processes and value streams, including clearing, settlement, reconciliation, risk, compliance, and ISO 20022. Scheme-agnostic familiarity with major payment types and networks is essential.
- Strategic and Commercial Acumen: Ability to develop and execute strategy, build compelling business cases, and apply financial and analytical insight to improve payment services.
- Execution & Change Leadership: Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, with strong understanding of project or Agile delivery, risk mitigation, and business readiness.
- Influence & Communication: Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders around a shared vision for payments innovation and excellence.
