Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- QC & Compliance: Lead the Quality Control department, conduct routine inspections of raw materials/finished goods, maintain HACCP/GMP standards, and manage regulatory audits
- Operational Support: Assist in production scheduling, resolve bottlenecks, monitor yields and wastage, and ensure machinery is maintained to hygiene standards
- NPD Leadership: Research market trends, lead formulation trials, conduct sensory/shelf-life testing, and manage technical documentation and costing models
- Team Management: Train production and QC staff on SOPs, foster accountability, and collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, procurement, and warehouse teams
- Reporting & Improvement: Maintain precise production, quality, and compliance records while driving cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
Criteria
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related manufacturing discipline
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience within an FMCG food production, manufacturing, or quality management environment
- NPD Track Record: Proven experience driving New Product Development projects successfully from concept to commercial launch
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of quality assurance, quality control, food safety, HACCP, GMP, and local regulatory frameworks
- Leadership & Skills: Strong team management abilities, analytical problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in production reporting systems
- Language Proficiency: Read, speak and write English and Afrikaans
