Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of an Artisan
1. Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ standards, policies, and procedures
- Promote a zero-harm safety culture
2. Machine Inspections
- Conduct thorough inspections in both field and workshop environments
- Identify potential faults and ensure preventative maintenance
3. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Perform advanced fault-finding and root cause analysis
- Utilize technical manuals and diagnostic tools effectively
4. Machine Repairs
- Execute repairs on heavy equipment in field and workshop settings
- Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to OEM standards
5. Machine Servicing
- Perform planned maintenance and servicing activities
- Ensure equipment availability and reliability
6. Component Disassembly & Assembly
- Disassemble and assemble machines and components
- Support new builds and rebuild projects

Desired Experience & Qualification
Education & Certifications
- Trade Test Qualification: Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Millwright
- Valid Driver’s License:
- Relevant equipment operating certifications (site-specific)
- Medical certificate of Fitness
Knowledge of Legislation
- Safety, Health and Environment Act
- OHSACT and MHSACT compliance
Technical Skills
- Ability to interpret and navigate Komatsu Parts Manuals
