Introduction
Empire Bricks is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Debtors / Creditors Clerk (Accounting Clerk) to join our team in Bloemfontein. This position is ideal for an individual who is highly organized, accurate, and capable of managing multiple administrative and accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting the day-to-day finance and administration functions of the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform debtors and creditors reconciliations accurately and timeously.
- Process supplier invoices, statements, and payments.
- Manage customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Capture and maintain financial transactions on accounting systems.
- Assist with month-end processes and account balancing.
- Handle general accounting and administrative duties.
- Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping systems.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding account queries.
- Ensure all financial information is processed with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in a Debtors, Creditors, or Accounting Clerk role.
- Strong reconciliation skills.
- Proficient in Pastel and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working on accounting software packages.
- Exposure to IQ Accounting Software will be advantageous (training will be provided).
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of SAIPA Articles will be advantageous.
- Relevant Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping qualification preferred.
