Aspen Logistics is looking for a skilled and motivatedDiesel Technicianto join our Workshop team in Germiston. If you have a passion for truck maintenance, fault finding, and keeping vehicles operating at peak performance, we want to hear from you. The role focuses on the mechanical and electrical maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, safety, and minimizing downtime.
Duties & Responsibilities
About the Role
Reporting to theWorkshop &Service Manager, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining truck mechanical and electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. The role also includes breakdown assistance, preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous fleet reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on trucks, and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical faults.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and root-cause analysis.
- Use advanced diagnostic equipment and scanning software to identify faults.
- Complete accurate maintenance records and service reports.
- Assist with roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop procedures.
- Support and mentor junior technicians where required.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric.
- Red Seal Certification (MERSETA accredited).
- Valid driver's licence. (Code 14 licence will be advantageous.)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in truck mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic, repair, and servicing experience on heavy commercial vehicles.
- Proven experience in preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Experience working onMercedes-Benz (MERC)andMANtrucks will be advantageous.

Working Conditions
- Based in Germiston.
- Workshop-based role with standby requirements, breakdown assistance and occasional customer site visits.
- Rotational 7-day shift roster, including weekends.
- Overtime and emergency call-outs may be required.
