Key Responsibilities:
Regional Oversight and Support
Provide technical leadership and support to site-based database geologists across the region.
Serve as the primary regional point of contact for geological data integrity, validation, and reporting standards.
Facilitate the implementation and monitoring of consistent database workflows and QAQC protocols at all sites.
Resource Geology & Estimation
Provide expert technical support for geological modelling and mineral resource estimation across the region.
Review, audit, and approve resource models to ensure they comply with international reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC).
Support reconciliation processes and collaborate with mine planning teams to improve model accuracy and mine-to-mill performance.
Guide implementation of geostatistical methods and advanced modelling techniques
Operational Geology Integration
Liaise with mine geology and production teams to ensure effective application of models in daily operations.
Monitor and improve grade control practices and alignment with resource models.
Facilitate the integration of short-term and long-term geological interpretations.
Geological Database Management
Oversee the geological data management systems used at all sites, ensuring consistency, quality, and security of drillhole, assay, and survey data.
Develop and enforce regional database governance protocols and QA/QC procedures.
Ensure data workflows support timely and accurate updates to geological models.
Provide training and support on database platforms (e.g. Fusion, acQuire, Geobank, Datashed).
Best Practices and Standardisation
Develop, document, and enforce geological data management standards aligned with international reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC, etc.).
Collaborate with corporate and regional teams to ensure consistency of data structures, validation routines, and geological coding conventions.
Lead periodic audits of site databases and QAQC processes to identify gaps, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance.
Training and Development
Mentor and develop site-based geologists and database administrators in modeling, estimation, and data management.
Conduct internal audits and readiness reviews to support public reporting and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all technical reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with corporate standards.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Support
Contribute to exploration-to-resource conversion strategies and integrate new drilling data into regional resource plans.
Support M&A technical evaluations, due diligence, and project development activities.
Collaborate with IT and data teams to support system upgrades and integration of new tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related field (postgraduate qualification preferred).
12+ years' experience in geology roles, including database/resource geology and multi-site or regional responsibility.
Strong proficiency in geological database systems (e.g., Acquire, Geobank, Fusion) and modelling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surpac, Datamine).
Deep understanding of QAQC protocols, sampling theory, geostatistics, and geological logging standards.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring, team development, and technical training.
Familiarity with international resource reporting standards (JORC, NI 43-101, etc.).
Recognised Competent/Qualified Person under a public reporting code is preferred.
