Duties and Responsibilities
Engage in learning/facilitation as per workload: Engineering Graphics & Design L3, Material Technology L3, Professional Engineering Practice L4, Engineering Systems L2, Engineering Technology L2, and Engineering Fundamentals L2.
Assess and record the performance of students;
Manage a learning program, develop policy for the program;
Provide guidance on the latest developments on approaches to the program.
Planning, facilitating and administering training processes;
Providing training to apprentices according to training schedule;
Facilitate automotive skills training to unemployed youth of varied ability;
Manage simulated workshop environment;
Implement and facilitate on going training in line with industry & NQF standards;
Prepare, review and administer assessments;
Administer training registers and practical simulated exposure;
Compile exit level projects and monthly reports;
Collect and review portfolios of learning evidence (POE);
Design, monitor and deliver on the implementation plan;
Provide learners with an understanding of the Industry they will be pursuing a career in;
Baseline assess candidates to check understanding;
Conduct toolkits gap training and trade test preparation to candidates;
Management of workshop tools and equipment, procurement and safekeeping;
Conduct risk assessment, investigate and report incidents;
Site visits, and to companies where learners are placed and completion of monitoring reports.
Minimum Requirements
A National Senior Certificate (Matric);
National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Computer Aided Draughting/ Design (CAD);
Trade test in Boilermaker (Red Seal);
Professional Teacher's Qualification;
0 - 2 Year's teaching experience;
Registered with South African Council for Educators (SACE);
Facilitation, Assesor and Moderator Certificate will be an added advantage;
Driver's licence will be an added advantage;
Computer literacy wil be an added advantage.
