Qualification and experience required:
- A relevant three-year qualification with preference in auditing or internal audit as a major and registered with a recognised professional body.
- Computer literacy: MS Office.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Five to eight years’ relevant experience required, which includes two years of supervisory experience.
- CIA/PIA/RGA/CASA Certificate will be an added advantage.

- In-depth knowledge of municipal legislation, policy, practice and code of conduct; and contributes toward addressing the Municipality’s service delivery challenges.
- Aligns annual/quarterly audit plans and individual audits with municipal goals and objectives.

- Finalises the draft audit report with reflection of management comments and auditor’s response.
- Demonstrates effective oral presentation skills.
- Manages fact-finding and delegates research to other auditors, giving clear, organised assignments.
- Ensures that audit work is following the norms of Internal Auditing and other standards set by IA.
- Prepares draft audit project reports on findings complete with management comments for review by the project manager based on the results of the various audit engagements.
- Make preliminary decisions and recommendations on difficult ethical issues.
Job purpose:
- Conducts auditing and risk assessment assignments associated with the Audit Services and Risk Assessment functionality through conducting preliminary investigations, undertaking research/analysis, implementation of information and systems audit, and application of acceptable auditing controls and reporting within the business units.
