Minimum Requirements:

A relevant Doctoral Degree At least 9 years' experience in higher education Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in African languages A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor. Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research. Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).

Responsibilities:

Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor Secure external research grants and establish research programs Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows Establish institutional, national and international collaborations Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels

Associate Professor: African languages (1 post)

Minimum Requirements:

A relevant Doctoral Degree At least 7 years' experience in higher education Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in African languages A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor African languages. Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
