Job Description
Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our client's esteemed retail company in Pietermaritzburg with numerous branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and retail industry experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning
Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
Monitor and maintain internal controls
Assist with audits and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate and up to date financial records
Experience with recurring Journals
Experience with Intercompany Accounting
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc.)
At least 35 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
R400 000 - R460 000 per annum
