Minimum Requirements
Matric with Mathematics and Science
2 years' experience in plant operations in a chemical industry
2 years' experience in shunting
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specification:
Rail line inspections and reporting of any deviations
Make effective decisions during shunting activities to avoid delays
Correctly switch rail points and position blades to direct tankers to appropriate loading/offloading bays
Ensure good housekeeping/cleanliness of shunting yard
Ensure compliance with rail safety regulations during all shunting and tanker placement activities
Carry out regular shunting checks as per SOPs/WIs
Report all deviations/faults on rail lines
Weigh in and out of rail tankers and record weights on SAP
Shunting of rail tankers from and to siding and within the plant
Placing and positioning of rail tankers in correct loading/offloading bays
Inspect and report all deviations/faults on rail tankers
Placing of dispatch cards on rail tankers
Liaise with Rail supervisor on all shunting operations
